Winners of Crowley Dairy Leadership Awards Named



Just over a dozen dairy youth are being recognized with the James W. Crowley State 4-H Dairy Leadership award for 2021. The program recognizes 4-H youth members who display excellence and outstanding leadership in dairy projects throughout Wisconsin.

The top three youth recipients include Haley Beukema, New Richmond; Katherine Elwood, Amery; and Courtney Glenna, Amery. They will each received $500 for their continuation of dairy education. In addition, Clarissa Ulness of Valders received a $5,000 scholarship to attend the Department of Animal and Dairy Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Other students who earned the award include Henry Huth, Cameron; Lora Korth, New London; Paige Sweatt, Dane; Emma Vos, Maribel; Justyne Frisle, Prairie Farm; Jenna Gries, Manitowoc; Gracie Ziegler, Appleton; Erin Torgerson, Viroqua; Maria Zillges, Larsen; and Emily Stumpf, Appleton.

The award program is in honor and memory of James W. Crowley, longtime extension dairy specialist at UW Madison and strong supporter of dairy youth project work.
