Dairy Farmers of America has announced the recipients of its college scholarship program. The DFA Cares Foundation Scholarships are presented to outstanding students who are pursuing careers in the dairy industry.
Two of the scholarship winners are from Wisconsin, including Elizabeth Katzman of Whitewater, planning to attend Northeast Technical College-Green Bay to major in small business entrepreneurship; and Evan Martin, Janesville, planning to study dairy science this fall at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The selection criteria includes a commitment and passion for a career in the dairy industry; extracurricular activities, awards and work experience; and academic achievement.
This year, 44 students will share a combined total of $63,000.
