Only One Contested Seat for WMMB Board
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/02/2016

The make up of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board will not look much different after this year's district director elections are complete. This year, seven of the eight incumbents in eligible districts have been renominated for their positions, with only one district having a two-way contest.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture says District 9 Incumbent Jeff Strassburg from Wittenburg will again face Don Robaidek of Pulaski in a rematch of the 2013 election. That's when Robaidek was ousted from the board by Strassburg.

Other district incumbents who are not facing challengers this year include Mark Leder, Gleasonis (District 3); Vivian Thompson, Cadott (District 6); Ken Heiman, Marshfield (District 12); Mary Cook, Wilton (District 15); Dean Strauss, Sheboygan Falls (District 18); Kevin Walleser, De Soto (District 21); and Tina Hinchley, Cambridge (District 24).

Election coordinators say all eligible voters mush return their ballots to DATCP by May 25. Dairy producers who do not receive a ballot by May 10 should call 608-224-5116.

Elected producers will serve three-year terms beginning July 1.
