Dykstra Elected to Potatoes USA Board

Another state produce grower has been elected to the Potatoes USA board of directors.

Wendy Dykstra of Alsum Farms & Produce in Friesland will serve a three-year term on the board, starting in March 2021.

She joins five other board members from the state to serve on the panel, where they will be responsible for representing growers' interests and keeping them informed on how the checkoff is fulfilling needs and maximizing returns.

"I feel my career and life experiences have prepared me well," Dykstra said. "I've been able to learn more about Potatoes USA programs over the years through family members on the board."

Each year, board members are nominated by the industry and are then appointed by the secretary of agriculture to serve on the board.
