Leadership and Programs Intern Joins WFBF Team

By Blake Jackson

Josie Bailey, Faith Burgess, Victoria Havlik and Brooke Mallek have been chosen to serve as interns with the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF) over the coming year. Collectively, the four students will help promote and communicate WFBF programmers and initiatives during the spring and summer of 2026.

“Internships open doors for students to explore careers in agriculture and gain real-world experience,” said WFBF President Brad Olson. “We’re thrilled to have these four talented individuals join our team and bring their perspectives to strengthen our communications and programs.”

Josie Bailey has been selected as the Leadership and Programs Intern. A student at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls majoring in agricultural education, Bailey currently holds the title of National Guernsey Queen. She was raised on a fifth-generation dairy farm near Tomah and is the daughter of Brock and Nelda Bailey.

Bailey background includes strong involvement in FFA and dairy youth organizations, earning recognition at both state and national levels. Bailey will assist with leadership development efforts, including Young Farmer and Agriculturists and FFA programmed, while supporting social media and promotional activities. She will begin in May.

Faith Burgess will serve as the WFBF Communications Intern. Raised near Shullsburg, Wisconsin, Burgess is studying agricultural communications at Iowa State University. Her interest in agriculture was shaped by her rural upbringing and FFA involvement.

During Burgess internship, she will help manage social media platforms, create content for communication channels and contribute to the WFBF blog. Burgess will start her role in January.

Victoria Havlik has been selected as the Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom Intern. She grew up on a diversified livestock farm near Clintonville and is studying agricultural education at UW-River Falls. Havlik will focus on developing agricultural literacy lessons and supporting outreach efforts. Havlik will begin in May.

Brooke Mallek will serve as the Gather Wisconsin Intern. A UW-Platteville agricultural education student, Mallek will assist with managing and promoting GatherWisconsin.com and related events, beginning in January.
