A major regional dairy event focused on milk quality improvement will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from June 16 to 18, 2026. The National Mastitis Council regional meeting is designed to support dairy farmers, veterinarians, consultants, and industry professionals through education, collaboration, and practical learning.
The event begins on June 16 with one or two optional short courses offered by the National Mastitis Council. These courses focus on hands-on, applied topics that participants can immediately use on their farms or within their professional roles. The goal is to provide practical tools that improve day-to-day decision-making related to milk quality and herd health.
The first day concludes with a special evening reception at Lambeau Field, one of Wisconsin’s most iconic locations. Attendees will enjoy a relaxed networking environment featuring high-quality local foods, including Wisconsin cheeses, along with regional wines and beers. The setting highlights Wisconsin’s strong dairy heritage while encouraging professional connections.
On June 17, the general session features expert-led presentations covering key topics in dairy production. These include evaluation of milking systems, emerging mastitis pathogens, and effective on-farm milk quality strategies. Additional sessions focus on antimicrobial stewardship to support responsible treatment decisions and reduce antimicrobial resistance. Research updates and training resources related to cow handling are also included, helping participants improve animal welfare and worker safety.
The meeting concludes on June 18 with guided farm tours in east central Wisconsin. Participants will visit well-managed dairy operations, including Shiloh Dairy, Country Aire Farms, and Brightside Dairy. These tours offer the opportunity to observe milk quality practices in action, explore facility design, and discuss management decisions directly with farm leaders.
Overall, the regional meeting combines education, real-world examples, and professional networking into one comprehensive experience. By bringing dairy professionals together in a collaborative learning environment, the event aims to strengthen milk quality, promote best management practices, and support the long-term success of the dairy industry while showcasing Wisconsin hospitality.
