Nate Zimdars takes new role at Wisconsin Farm Bureau

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF) has recently announced a significant change in its leadership structure, promoting Nate Zimdars to the role of Director of Local Government.

This position, previously known as the Member Advocacy and Issues Coordinator, has been revamped to strengthen the bureau's ties with county Farm Bureaus and support volunteers dealing with local government matters.

Nate Zimdars brings a wealth of experience and a diverse background to his new role. Before his promotion, he served as the Governmental Relations Administrative Assistant at WFBF since February 2024. His early years were spent on a small hobby farm near Ripon, Wisconsin, where he developed a deep understanding of agricultural life by raising sheep and poultry.

Zimdars is well-educated, holding degrees in political science and history from the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac and UW-Madison. His professional journey includes notable stints as a Farm Broadcaster with the MidWest Farm Report and as a machine operator at Emmi Roth Cheese in Stoughton.

Zimdars will work closely with WFBF members who are interested in or are running for local public offices. His responsibilities will include guiding these members through the complexities of local government and ensuring that the federation's voice is heard and considered in local governmental issues.

This strategic focus is intended to enhance the effectiveness of the federation's advocacy efforts at the county level and ensure that agricultural interests are well-represented in local policy-making circles.

Residing in Madison, Zimdars is positioned ideally to bridge rural agricultural needs and urban policy frameworks.
