Wisconsin’s corn production is projected to reach 532 million bushels this year, according to the USDA’s latest Crop Production report from the National Agricultural Statistics Service.
As of November 1, yield per acre is estimated at 181 bushels, which is 1 bushel per acre lower than October’s estimate but shows a 5-bushel-per-acre increase over last year’s yield.
The state has approximately 3.75 million acres dedicated to corn planting, with an anticipated 2.94 million acres set for grain harvest.
The state’s soybean production forecast currently stands at 104 million bushels. The yield is expected to be 49 bushels per acre, marking a decrease of 4 bushels per acre from the previous month’s estimate and a 2-bushel decline from last year’s harvest.
Soybean acreage in Wisconsin is estimated at 2.15 million, with about 2.12 million acres expected to be harvested.
Wisconsin’s potato production is also projected to decline this year, with forecasts indicating a total of 25.1 million cwt.
This represents a 12 percent drop compared to 2023 figures. Potato yield per acre is estimated at 380 cwt, with 66,000 acres planned for harvest.
It’s worth noting that all forecasts in this report are based on data and conditions observed as of November 1, meaning they do not account for any subsequent weather impacts.
