It's time to sign-up once again for the annual Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch. The event, which takes place at noon on October 14, involves hundreds of thousands of 'crunchers' at schools, early care sites, colleges and hospitals across Wisconsin and the region all biting into locally-grown apples at the same time to create the crunch heard around the region.
Participants are encouraged to take photos of their crunch and share them on social media and with their school and community.

The Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch is a project of the Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The first crunch event took place in 2014 to show the importance of local foods to school students.
