Wisconsin farmers in certain counties who lost property this summer due to recent natural disasters may be eligible for USDA physical loss loans. The Farm Service Agency is offering these low-interest loans for losses caused by flash flooding that occurred June 13-15, 2022.
The FSA says producers in Jefferson and Monroe that incurred damages from excessive rain may apply for emergency loans, along with farmers in contiguous counties of Dane, Dodge, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Rock, Vernon, Walworth and Waukesha.
Approval is limited to applicants who suffered severe physical losses only, including the loss of buildings and livestock.
Applications are due May 15, 2023.
