The Green Bay-based Dairy Business Association has endorsed Sen. Ron Johnson for re-election to the U.S. Senate in the November election. The Oshkosh Republican is seeking his third term since being elected in 2010.
DBA President Amy Penterman says Johnson's efforts on behalf of Wisconsin farms and businesses drove the group's decision to endorse him in the race.
"Senator Johnson understands what it takes to run a business and that every decision that he makes in D.C. affects businesses around the state, including dairy farms," Penterman said. "He has stood by family businesses to oppose changes in the tax system that would make it nearly impossible for the next generation to continue farming."
Johnson is facing Wisconsin Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes in the November 8 general election.
