The Wisconsin Farmers Union (WFU) Kenosha-Jefferson-Racine-Walworth Chapter is hosting an informative community event focused on large-scale solar development.
Set to take place on Monday, August 18, 2025, the session will be held at the Whitewater Innovation Center, located at 1221 Innovation Dr., Whitewater, WI. Refreshments will be available at 5:00 p.m., with the main program scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This public session aims to provide clear and balanced information on current and potential solar projects in southeastern Wisconsin. Attendees will learn about adjacent landowner considerations, lease negotiations, and the broader impacts of energy development.
The event will also cover topics such as community energy agreements, land protections, and strategies to maximize benefits for residents and landowners.
“Our members have told us they want clear, unbiased information about energy development in southeastern Wisconsin context that helps them understand the issues without being told what to think,” said Tara Greiman, WFU’s Director of Conservation and Stewardship.
“This event is designed to equip farmers, landowners, and community members with the tools they need to evaluate how energy projects may impact their land, livelihoods, and the future of our electric grid.”
