The 2022 American Honey Queen will visit southeastern Wisconsin next week to take part in the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association's annual convention in Milwaukee. Lucy Winn, a native of Pennsylvania, will also visit several local schools in the Menomonee Falls, Muskego, Waukesha, Lannon, New Berlin, Big Bend, and Elm Grove areas, where she will speak about the importance of beekeeping and honeybee pollination.
Winn is a junior at DeSales University, where she studies business management and economics. She and her family keep backyard beehives, which sparked her passion for beekeeping.
As the American Honey Queen, Lucy serves as a national spokesperson on behalf of the American Beekeeping Federation, a trade organization representing beekeepers and honey producers throughout the United States.
