Beef producers in north-central Wisconsin will have an opportunity to sharpen their herd and forage management skills at a free twilight meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The event will be hosted at Wolf Creek Angus, located at 35431 100th Street, Stanley, Wisconsin.
Organized by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, the gathering will highlight strategies for beef herd replacement selection as well as best practices in fall forage management.
Extension livestock and crop/soil educators will lead the discussions, providing practical insights for producers as they prepare for the next production cycle.
The evening kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with complimentary pizza and a short introduction to the host’s seedstock operation. Formal presentations are set to begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m. Following the educational sessions, attendees are encouraged to explore the farm’s cattle handling facilities and network with other producers.
The program will be held rain or shine and includes walking, so participants should bring suitable outdoor clothing, rain gear, a lawn chair, and washable footwear.
Advance registration is required by calling the UW Extension Taylor County office at 715-748-1413. For more details, contact Extension educator Sandra Stuttgen at 715-748-3327 or sandra.stuttgen@wisc.edu.
