The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation has awarded $19,000 in scholarships to graduating 4-H youth this spring. A record number of 4-H members in their last year of high school or first year of college applied for scholarships this year in areas like community service and environmental education.
Scholarships were awarded through company and individual endowed funds by supporters who share a passion for 4-H and the leadership and life skills it teaches.
Earning the Hendrickson Memorial Scholarship were Connor Bruins, Brandon; and Marin Stauffacher, Columbus.
Oscar G. & Mary W. Woelfel Memorial Scholarship Jesse Groell, Osseo; Kelsey Henderson, Kenosha; Lindsay Propst, Beaver Dam; Natalie Roe, Monticello; and Lauren Thompson, Woodville.
Winners of the Frances & Phyllis Conrad Memorial Scholarship include Matthew Harle, New Richmond; and Joseph Krahn, Eden.
T.L. Bewick Scholarship recipients are Lindsey Berg, Arcadia; Frances Duffek, Hartford; Elizabeth Glandt, Bangor; Abby Ruedinger, Larsen; and Valorie Schamens, Jefferson.
Stephanie Farrey, Whitewater; and Kate Loucks, Weston, both received the Culver's 4-H Scholarship.
This year's receipient of the Cynthia Hoehne Scholarship Award was Madison Thiex of Webster.
The Elizabeth Salter-Eby Memorial Scholarship went to Emma Moore of Balsam Lake.
And the Betty Krueger Memorial Scholarship winner was Brook Putz of Fountain City.
Wisconsin 4-H Foundation scholarships are awarded to students based on demonstrated personal growth, development and leadership, academic performance, financial need and future educational goals with specific criteria for designated awards.
