State Farm Bureau Leaders to Serve on National Committees
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/17/2017

Three board members of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation have been named to various advisory committees on the American Farm Bureau.

Dave Daniels of Union Grove was selected to serve on the farm policy committee, which discusses risk management, crop insurance, price and income support programs and conservation programs.

Joe Bragger from Independence will be part of the water committee. That panel covers Clean Water Act issues, national and regional water storage programs, Army Corps of Engineers water-related efforts and flood control. Bragger is a dairy and poultry producer.

And Dick Gorder, a dairy farmer from Mineral Point, was appointed to the trade advisory committee in 2016 and selected its chairman for this year. This group discusses trade negotiations, enforcement of current agreements, sanitary and phytosanitary issues, trade promotion programs, non-tariff barriers to trade and works with AFBF's trade team.

There are 15 AFBF committees that will meet in conjunction with the Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. at the end of February.

Each of the committee assignments run for a two year term.
