WCA Honors 2025 Cattle Industry Leaders in Wisconsin

By Blake Jackson

During its 2025 Summer Tour in southeastern Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association (WCA) honored key individuals and families for their exceptional contributions to the state’s beef industry.

Dr. Amy Radunz was named the 2025 Cattlemen of the Year. Based in Pierce County, Radunz is a seasoned stocker cattle producer and currently works as a Beef Cattle Technical Specialist for Purina.

Radunz lifelong dedication to the beef sector has left a strong mark both within Wisconsin and nationally. She has mentored many young cattle producers, helping shape the next generation of industry leaders.

Radunz serves as President of the Wisconsin Beef Council and Vice President for Region III of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Federation of State Beef Councils.

Though no longer on the WCA board or committees, she remains actively involved and now represents WCA on the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture’s Export Advisory Council.

Richard Hauser was awarded the 2025 Friend of the Cattlemen honor. Through his business, Neptune Enterprises, Hauser has offered critical support to cattle producers across the state.

Hauser provides sponsorships and shares his expertise in cattle handling and facility design. Known for his calm approach and deep knowledge, Hauser has improved animal welfare and safety practices while quietly mentoring emerging leaders in the industry.

The Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Award went to 2K Cattle Enterprises, operated by Kevin, Keri, and Kelsi Retallick in Grant County. This fourth-generation family farm is recognized for its excellence in animal care, genetics, and leadership.

The Retallicks host educational events and are known for their performance-tested Angus cattle. Their commitment to science-driven practices and community engagement reflects the principles of BQA-ensuring consumer trust in beef from farm to table.

The WCA also celebrated the recipients of its 2025 scholarships, acknowledging young leaders who represent the future of Wisconsin’s beef industry:

  • Kylie Garner, Almond
  • Alison George, Mondovi
  • Emily Kalina, Rice Lake
  • Brooke Mitchell, Boscobel
  • Olivia Zuehls, Montello

These awards underscore WCA’s mission to promote excellence, education, and leadership in cattle production throughout Wisconsin.
