Price Remain Mixed on NASS Cheese Survey

Prices were mixed again this week on the National Ag Statistics Service Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $1.93, up four cents from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were a penny lower at $1.85. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were up three cents at $1.83 for the week ending April 19. The barrels were a penny lower at $1.77.

Butter prices were up fractionally as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.35 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices were a penny higher for the week at $1.26 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were up four at $1.82, and the barrels were at $1.87, which was steady compared to the previous week.
