2025 Badger Crops and Soils Update Meetings

2025 Badger Crops and Soils Update Meetings

By Blake Jackson

The 2025 Badger Crops and Soils Update Meetings are scheduled for December 2-4, offering both in-person and virtual options for producers and agronomy professionals.

In-person sessions will be held in Eau Claire (Dec. 2), Monroe (Dec. 3), and Appleton (Dec. 4), while the Appleton session is also accessible virtually. Meeting times run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the virtual session starting at 9:00 a.m.

These one-day meetings provide the latest research and practical guidance on agronomy, pest management, and nutrient management from University of Wisconsin experts, with a focus on real-world farm applications.

Early bird registration is available until November 10, and students can register at a reduced rate. In-person attendees will receive lunch, and all sessions offer CCA continuing education credits.

The program features presentations on a variety of topics, including strategies to reduce phosphorus index with Dr. Steven Hall, updated soil test P and K recommendations for corn and soybean, and insights into corn production systems by Dr. Harkirat Kaur.

Other sessions include forage management with Dr. Marta Kohmann, soil infiltration and aggregation with Dr. Mallika Nocco, and insecticide impacts with Dr. Emily Bick, as well as 2026 weed management considerations with Dr. Rodrigo Werle.

Sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension and College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the meetings promote accessibility and offer support for attendees requiring alternative formats or interpreters by contacting cropsandsoils@extension.wisc.edu before November 7.
