By Blake Jackson

Professional Dairy Producers will spotlight developments in the dairy and beef sectors during this week’s episodes of The Dairy Signal, featuring discussions on beef checkoff investments and market trends shaping agriculture in 2026.

The Tuesday, May 19 episode will recognize National Beef Month with a conversation focused on the beef industry checkoff program and its connection to dairy producers.

Viewers will hear how producer-funded checkoff dollars are being used to strengthen consumer demand and support market expansion across the livestock sector. The featured speaker will be Tammy Vaassen, executive director of the Wisconsin Beef Council.

Later in the week, the Thursday, May 21 episode will provide an updated outlook on agricultural and dairy markets heading into the summer season and beyond.

Ben Buckner, chief grains and dairy analyst with AgResource Company, will discuss market trends expected to influence producers through the remainder of 2026.

The Dairy Signal is presented as a weekly educational program designed to provide practical information and industry insights for dairy farmers and food-system professionals.

Episodes are broadcast live every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. Central Time and include opportunities for participants to ask questions during the sessions.
