A man who's life has been changed by the Easterseals Wisconsin's FARM Program is now a member of the group's board of directors. Alan Kaltenberg of Arlington will serve as a director for the Madison-based organization, which is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities across the state.
Kaltenberg, who is a farmer with disabilities, worked with a rehabilitation specialist for many years as part of the AgrAbility of Wisconsin. This unique program works with farmers to help them return to farming after a disabling accident or illness.
"We are encouraged to have the guidance from someone who has lived and worked with a disability the majority of his life," said Easterseals CEO Paul Leverenz. "His invaluable perspective will inform and guide our decisions and, undoubtedly, lead to stronger programing and services within our organization."
In addition to running his farm, Alan serves on the Leeds town board, is a past-president of Equity Columbian Co-op, and has worked on the Columbia County Board of Adjustment, his Church Council, and the Columbia County Snowmobile Council.
