Navigating Dicamba's future - Upcoming NALC webinar details

By Jamie Martin

The National Agricultural Law Center (NALC) is set to host an enlightening webinar titled “The Deal with Dicamba - Overview of Recent Legal Developments” on May 15. This session, led by staff attorney Brigit Rollins, will cover the latest judicial and regulatory shifts surrounding the use of dicamba, a widely used pesticide in agriculture.

Following a recent decision by the Arizona District Court, the future of dicamba's over-the-top applications has been cast into uncertainty, leading to varying state responses and an interim allowance by the EPA for farmers to use their existing stocks. The webinar will delve into these developments and what they could mean for agricultural producers going forward.

Brigit Rollins will also discuss the broader implications of these legal challenges, including the potential environmental impacts and the EPA's efforts to reconcile its responsibilities under the Endangered Species Act with pesticide regulation mandates. This discussion is crucial for anyone involved in agriculture, from farmers to policymakers, given the significant role dicamba plays in crop protection.

The session promises to provide a comprehensive update on the legal landscape affecting dicamba and will include insights into future regulatory trends. Interested participants can register online at no cost to gain valuable perspectives on how these changes might shape agricultural practices.

The NALC continues to serve as a pivotal resource in agricultural and food law, helping stakeholders navigate complex legal terrains through research, webinars, and publications. This webinar is part of their ongoing effort to keep the agricultural community informed and prepared for evolving legal standards.
