The National FFA Organization is awarding more than $1.5 million in college scholarships to nearly 1,000 students this spring. The agriculture education group says 26 Wisconsin FFA members were among the recipients of the scholarship program, which is available to students pursuing two-year or four-year degrees or vocational programs.
State winners of scholarships were Jamison Meier, DeForest; Cade Austin, Milton; Dalton Pollex Adams-Friendship; Hannah Pitzen, Cuba City; Kathleen Yanke, Sauk Prairie; Elizabeth Gizzi, Rosholt; Hannah Wieczorek, Baraboo; Natalie Roe, Monticello; Victorria Meylor, Darlington; Randall Winch, Fennimore; Natalie Ott, Berlin; Sarah Hagenow, Rio; Ashley Hagenow, Rio; Philip Krzyszton, Cochrane-Fountain City; Michelle Stangler, Watertown; Katelyn Loehrke, Weyauwega-Fremont; Barbara Dittrich, Cochrane-Fountain City; Everlah Riley, Waupaca; Ashley Johnson, Weyauwega-Fremont; Kendra Goplin, Whitehall; Emma Hamilton, Adams-Friendship; Cortney Zimmerman, Spencer; Brooks Lueck, Wisconsin Heights; Amelia Hayden, Big Foot; Amara Livingston, Cochrane-Fountain City; Adam Zee, Marshfield; and Alex Brzezinski, Stevens Point.
This year marks the 37th year for the scholarship program, which began in 1984 with just 16 scholarships offered. Since then, more than $48 million has been awarded in scholarship funds through the National FFA Organization.
