Elected officials, educators, legislators, and engaged community members are invited to attend a unique opportunity to explore the future of dairy farming and rural development in Wisconsin.
The 2025 Agricultural Community Engagement (ACE) Twilight Meetings will take place across four counties, offering on-farm tours and open discussions about key issues affecting rural communities.
The events are scheduled for August 25-28, 2025, and will be hosted by dairy farms in Buffalo, Monroe, Manitowoc, and Jefferson counties.
Organized through a collaborative effort between Professional Dairy Producers (PDP), the Wisconsin Counties Association, and the Wisconsin Towns Association, these meetings aim to foster meaningful conversations and connections among stakeholders in agriculture and rural development.
Each meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. with a guided tour of the host farm, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how modern dairy farms care for animals, utilize technology, and manage daily operations.
Attendees will see firsthand the milking parlors, barns, and feeding systems in use. At 7:00 p.m., participants can enjoy ice cream and join in on open discussions covering topics such as renewable energy, water quality, conservation, rural infrastructure, education, and more. Meetings wrap up by 8:30 p.m.
“Agriculture is an important driver of Wisconsin’s economy and rural communities generating more than $116 billion in economic impact each year so it’s more important than ever for local leaders and elected officials to be part of the conversations about agriculture, natural resources and more,” said Paul Lippert, Pittsville, Wis., dairy producer, PDP board president and 2024 ACE twilight meeting host.
“ACE twilight meetings are a great way to get involved in discussions about our common priorities and challenges and see firsthand some of the technologies and innovations that drive modern dairy production.”
