Ag Day at the Capitol is scheduled for January 21 at Monona Terrace in Madison and will bring together farmers from across Wisconsin for the state’s largest annual gathering of agricultural advocates. The event provides producers representing a wide range of farm organizations with an opportunity to learn about key issues affecting Wisconsin agriculture and to engage directly with state lawmakers.
“Wisconsin Farm Bureau is proud to bring farmers together at the Capitol alongside our partners in agriculture,” said WFBF President Brad Olson. “There’s no better way to influence the future of agriculture than by meeting with legislators and sharing our stories firsthand.”
Registration opens at 11:00 a.m., with the program beginning at 11:30 a.m. The agenda includes lunch, a keynote address, issue briefings, and dedicated time for participants to visit with their legislators at the Capitol later in the afternoon.
This year’s keynote speaker is Marcus Landry, a Milwaukee native and graduate of Vincent High School of Agricultural Sciences. Landry played basketball for the University of Wisconsin-Madison before launching a decade-long professional career overseas.
In recent years, Landry has shifted his focus to sustainable agriculture and community leadership. In 2021, Landry and his wife, Efueko, founded Beulah Family Homestead, a 13-acre farm supplemented by six rented acres. Their work emphasizes agricultural education, food sustainability, community outreach, food security, and STEM learning initiatives.
Attendees are encouraged to contact their legislators’ offices in advance to schedule meetings between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on January 21.
Early registration is available for $35, with the fee increasing to $60 after January 16 and for on-site registration.
