This summer, CentralStar Cooperative, a champion for dairy and beef producers in the upper Midwest, welcomes seven enthusiastic interns across its genetics, laboratory, and research & development (R&D) units. These aspiring young professionals hail from diverse backgrounds and share a passion for the agricultural industry.
The genetics and artificial insemination (A.I.) team gains three valuable additions:
Katelyn Sohrweide (Wisconsin): This University of Wisconsin-Madison sophomore combines her love for dairy science and communication with hands-on farm experience.
Abbygail Foster (Wisconsin): This animal science student from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College brings practical knowledge from raising her own shorthorn beef cattle.
Alan George (Wisconsin): West Texas A&M University student George, raised on a family beef farm, combines his agribusiness expertise with firsthand animal experience.
Returning for a second internship in R&D is Evan Ma (Ohio), an Ohio State University animal science and computer science student. Ma's research in molecular biology contributes to finding innovative solutions for healthier and more productive dairy cattle.
These interns have an exciting summer ahead, gaining valuable real-world experience alongside industry experts. CentralStar offers a comprehensive range of services and products, from genetics and reproduction consulting to diagnostic testing and herd management solutions. They'll witness firsthand how CentralStar's integrated approach helps dairy and beef producers across Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana achieve greater profitability and success.
This internship program not only benefits these aspiring professionals but also underscores CentralStar's commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders. By investing in their knowledge and skills, CentralStar ensures a brighter future for the industry it serves. For more information, visit CentralStar Cooperative Inc. at www.mycentralstar.com.
