The Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA) will start accepting applications on August 21 for two grant programs that support dairy farmers, entrepreneurs, and processors in the Midwest.
The Dairy Business Builder Grant Program provides up to $100,000 for innovative projects that diversify dairy farms, create value-added products, or market dairy products for export.
The Dairy Industry Impact Grant Program offers reimbursable grants of up to $100,000 for projects that have the potential to positively impact the dairy industry. In the upcoming grant cycle, applications will be accepted for projects related to new or expanded dairy export endeavors.
Applicants can apply for both grant programs. The deadline for submissions is October 18, 2023.
DBIA will host two free webinars to provide more information about the grant programs and how to apply.

How to Apply for the Dairy Business Builder Grant
The Dairy Business Builder Grant Program is open to small- to medium-sized dairy farmers, entrepreneurs, and processors in the Midwest. To be eligible, applicants must:
- It is in one of the following states: Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin.
- Applicants must have an EIN and be in good standing with the IRS at the time of the award announcement.

How to Apply for the Dairy Industry Impact Grant
The Dairy Industry Impact Grant Program is open to dairy businesses, organizations, and research institutions in the United States. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Applicants must have an EIN and be in good standing with the IRS at the time of the award announcement.
- Applicants must have no immediate family members working for the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) or the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) or serving on the grant review committee.
