The dynamics of agricultural land transactions continue to evolve, impacting stakeholders across the United States. Notably, the Mid-South and Western U.S. regions will receive focused analysis at two premier agricultural law conferences this year.
Hosted by the National Agricultural Law Center and the NASDA Foundation, these conferences will feature critical sessions led by experts from Peoples Company, including Dave Muth and Quinn Kendrick.
Their presentations, titled "Ag Land Transactions in the Mid-South: Update on Market & Legal Trends" and "Ag Land Transactions in the Western U.S.: Update on Market & Legal Trends," aim to shed light on the shifting landscapes of agricultural land ownership.
"The ag sector continues to go through a lot of change, much of which is financially very challenging," says Harrison Pittman, NALC Director. The discussions will explore the complexities of ag land investments and the legal frameworks that shape these transactions.
Key topics include the impact of corporate and foreign ownership restrictions, licensing ecosystem services, and the financial and legal hurdles like distressed assets and due diligence trends.
As regulatory environments and market dynamics shift, staying informed becomes crucial for landowners, investors, and agricultural professionals.
The Mid-South conference will kick off online on May 14, while the Western conference is set for June 19-20 in Reno, Nevada. Both events promise to equip attendees with the knowledge to navigate the complexities of ag land transactions effectively.
