Master Grazing Techniques - join the fall conference

The Northwest Wisconsin Graziers Network, River Country RCD, and UW-Madison Extension invite you to their annual Fall Grazing Conference on Saturday, November 2nd from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM at the UW-Barron County Campus in Rice Lake (1800 Campus Drive).

Registration starts at 8:00 AM with a trade show. Lunch, catered by Fiddlehead Kitchen and featuring bison meat from Sky High Bison, is included in the $20 registration fee (advance only, $30 after October 29th). This fee also covers refreshments and conference materials.

Who should attend? New and experienced farmers, part-time or full-time, interested in grazing techniques and conservation practices. This conference is valuable for both graziers and non-graziers.

What will you learn? The conference offers informative sessions on:

  • Economics of conservation practices
  • Livestock health care skills
  • Current and future livestock markets
  • Sheep grazing and nutrient management
  • Starting a grazing sheep flock
  • Ecology of dung beetles
  • Using BioChar
  • Crossing beef bulls with dairy cows

Several agencies and commercial exhibitors will be on hand throughout the day to answer your questions and share their expertise.
