Heather Erdman, Victoria Smith, Luke Lisowe, Ashley Lisowe, and Jason Behrend have been appointed to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Young Farmer and Agriculturist (YFA) Committee. Their terms begin at the end of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau YFA Conference on December 4.
"It is exciting to see these young members step up and assume leadership roles in our organization," said WFBF President Kevin Krentz. "The YFA program is designed to build the next generation of Farm Bureau leaders and these appointees will surely rise to the occasion."
The new appointees bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the committee. Erdman is a fifth-generation farmer who raises cattle and crops with her husband. Smith is a third-generation Farm Bureau member who works with children in rural communities to teach them about the importance of agriculture. Behrend is a fourth-generation farmer who raises hogs and grazes cattle. Luke and Ashley Lisowe are both dairy farmers who were reappointed to the committee for 2024.
The YFA Committee is responsible for carrying out a variety of statewide initiatives, such as conferences, contests, and award programs. The committee is funded by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation.
