The Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame, organized by the University of Wisconsin–Madison Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences and the Wisconsin Livestock and Meat Council, is accepting nominations for its 2023 class of inductees. This prestigious honor aims to acknowledge exceptional leaders and innovators in Wisconsin's meat industry. Nominations will be open until June 16.
Established in 1993, the Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the state's meat industry. Their accomplishments may include pioneering business ventures, processing innovations, educational initiatives, leadership roles, or any other positive impact on meat production, distribution, and consumption in Wisconsin.
Inductees encompass a diverse range of professionals, including scientists, policymakers, professors, equipment suppliers, and operators of both large and small processing plants.
The hall of fame serves to compile valuable information about influential figures and achievements, showcasing Wisconsin's thriving meat industry. Furthermore, it seeks to inspire future generations to strive for remarkable accomplishments in this field.
The induction ceremony for the Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, during the Wisconsin Meat Industry Coalition Conference at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
