The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin says another group of speakers are set to take part in the online Dairy Signal program this week.
On Tuesday, Dr. John Goeser, PhD, who serves as adjunct assistant professor in the Dairy Science Department at UW-Madison, will join Bill Reyes with Royal Ag Services in discussing projections for harvest timing and quality testing for corn silage. Viewers will also learn about InField Updates to provide free updates on silage moisture and quality in your region.
Animal Science experts from Michigan State University will be Wednesday's presenters. They will explain how graduate research has focused on translating and evaluating applications of novel concepts on dairy farms, such as meta-analysis of studies with wet corn gluten feed, assessing whether Enogen corn silage is ready to feed more quickly post-harvest than conventional silage, econometric analysis of different approaches to dairy farm expansion and commercial farm assessment of post-calving inflammation and associations with health and productivity.
And on Thursday, Amy Myrdal Miller of Farmer's Daughter Consulting and Laura Saunders of the Mental Health and Prevention Technology Transfer Center will talk about how the daily pressures of life and work can lead one down the wrong path. Learn the signs of drug and alcohol abuse, the impact it can have on employees and how you can help.
All episodes are free and available to the public, accessible from www.pdpw.org. They are streamed live at 12:00 noon or available on demand for later playback.
