Five Wisconsin dairy professionals from various backgrounds were awarded scholarships to attend the 2024 PDP Cornerstone Dairy Academy. Their shared goal? Sharpening their leadership abilities to contribute more effectively to the dairy industry.
The scholarship recipients included Matthew Fischer, a double major in dairy science and agriculture business at UW-River Falls, who seeks to navigate potential conflicts more adeptly.
Hector Delgado Mondragon, a maintenance manager with prior experience in the Servant Leaders pillar of the Academy, aims to enhance communication and training methods for his team.
Rachelle Neumann, a dairy farm owner, aspires to become a more effective leader by both improving her management skills and setting a strong example for her employees.
Jennifer Hoewisch, who works alongside her husband on their farm, desires to strengthen communication with her colleagues and become a confident spokesperson for the dairy industry.
Finally, Jacob Peissig, another farm owner, hopes to leverage the Academy's program to become a more impactful advocate for dairy as he takes on a more active role within the industry.
These scholarships were provided by the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering education and economic development in rural areas of the state. The Cornerstone Dairy Academy itself is a leadership development program designed to equip dairy farmers and industry professionals with the skills necessary to excel in their roles.
