State cranberry production is projected to be higher than last year. According to the latest numbers by the U.S. Cranberry Marketing Committee, Wisconsin growers are expected to harvest about 7.9 million barrels this fall, up slightly from last year's crop.
"Wisconsin cranberry growers work hard to deliver a healthy, sustainable crop year after year," said Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association Director Tom Lochner. "Wisconsin growers are proud to be the number one producing region not only in the United States, but the world."
Wisconsin has been leading the country in cranberry production for the past 27 years.
Massachusetts is the second-largest-producing state, followed by New Jersey.
