Still Time to Sign-up for 2022 Pittsville FFA Cranberry Tours

The Pittsville FFA and FFA Alumni are once again holding its Splash of Red Cranberry tours this year to help pay for student scholarships, trips and other activities. The two-hour tours are being held just east of Pittsville, in which FFA members and students of the only cranberry science class taught in the nation will share information about how the fruit is grown, harvested and processed.

Each of the tours will kick-off at the Pittsville High School at 9:30 a.m. on select dates. Stops include producing beds with the tourists given the opportunity to pick fresh fruit from the vine, as well as observing harvest, testing, cleaning and freezing of the berries. And a lunch that includes cranberry treats made by the high school's foods class will also be offered.

The charge for the tour is $25 per person. The remaining tours are being held on October 20 & 21.

This is the 19th year the Pittsville FFA has been holding the local cranberry tours.
