Wisconsin Ag Secretary Randy Romanski has appointed a new deputy secretary at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Aileen Switzer begins her duties immediately as the agency's second-in-command, which is less than 60 days after she was chosen as the assistant deputy secretary at the department.
"Aileen has proven to be a thoughtful and steady member of the team at DATCP, and I am confident her talents will continue to shine as Deputy Secretary," Romanski said. "Her approach to strategic initiatives has proven to be a resource to the agency and industry, and I look forward to continuing our work together."
Prior to June, Switzer was a budget administrator at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's performance improvement program.
Romanski also announced the appointment of Joe Meyer as the administrator for the Division of Food and Recreational Safety. He replaces Steve Ingham, who has retired recently.
Meyer currently works for Kerry, where he provides worldwide food safety systems support, as well as supports the company's focus on healthy and quality food and ingredients. His first day day at DATCP will be September 12.
