U.S. Sugar Partners with John Deere Leader

By Jamie Martin

U.S. Sugar has announced a major strategic partnership with Everglades Equipment Group, a leading distributor of John Deere technology.

This collaboration aims to bring the latest in American-grown farming innovation to sugarcane operations across South Florida.

U.S. Sugar, which cultivates 255,000 acres of farmland in Florida, will now utilize advanced John Deere precision agriculture tools to improve sustainability and efficiency.

Everglades Equipment, serving Florida farmers since 1963, is offering state-of-the-art equipment and expertise to support U.S. Sugar’s mission.

Among the new technologies deployed are JDLink for equipment connectivity, Work Plans to streamline field operations, and embedded tech that optimizes fuel use.

The company is also using multi-section fertilizer applicators and landforming software like T3rra Cutta to improve water retention and field precision.

The sugarcane harvesters now feature auto idle, Smart Clean, and base cutter height control, ensuring consistent harvesting with minimal environmental impact.

Additionally, U.S. Sugar and Everglades Equipment are working on an Autonomous Tractor Solution currently under development.

“Our Company is rooted in innovation, dating back to our founder Charles Stewart Mott’s groundbreaking vision to make U.S. Sugar one of the most technologically advanced farming companies in the world,” said Ken McDuffie, President & CEO of U.S. Sugar.

This partnership represents a significant move in American agriculture, blending tradition with cutting-edge tools.

The collaboration ensures that farming can be more productive while reducing waste and conserving natural resources, setting a strong example for sustainable agriculture.
