The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension has released the full agenda for the 2025 Wisconsin Water and Soil Health (WWASH) Conference, set for December 16-17, 2025, at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells.
The event will bring together farmers, researchers, and conservation leaders for two days of education, discussion, and networking focused on improving soil and water health across Wisconsin.
Attendees will gain practical insights from peers and experts through keynote sessions, breakout discussions, and roundtables. This year’s keynote speakers include Dr. Matt Helmers, Professor and Director of the Iowa Nutrient Research Center at Iowa State University, who will present “Nutrient Loss Reduction: We need all available practices,” and Dr. Anna Cates, Associate Extension Professor and State Soil Health Specialist at the University of Minnesota, with her presentation “All Hands on Deck: What every sector can do to grow cover crops.”
The agenda features twelve breakout sessions covering topics such as interpreting soil test results, tile drainage management, and advancing farmer-led conservation. Additional highlights include “Weather Weirdness and Soil Health” with Steve Vavrus from the Wisconsin State Climatology Office and a farmer panel discussion, “Scaling Conservation Using Producer-Led Efforts.”
Participants can also join informal roundtables with Extension specialists to discuss farm challenges and explore actionable strategies.
Attendees are encouraged to book accommodations at the Kalahari Resort by November 15 to receive the special conference rate. Registration fees will increase after November 29, so early sign-up is recommended.
