UW-Madison Hosts Dairy and Crop Management Workshop

UW-Madison Hosts Dairy and Crop Management Workshop

By Blake Jackson

Dairy producers and agricultural consultants have an opportunity to expand their knowledge at an upcoming educational workshop hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension.

The event is scheduled for Friday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will take place at the UW–Madison Extension Jefferson County Office in Jefferson.

The workshop aims to help participants strengthen the connection between crop production and dairy nutrition, offering practical insights that can improve overall farm efficiency.

Attendees will explore several key topics, including feeding strategies for non-BMR corn silage, the use of short corn to achieve silage goals, and important feeding and crop management considerations for high-oleic soybeans. Additional discussions will further support decision-making on the farm.

The cost to attend is $30 per person, which includes lunch and workshop materials. Organizers encourage early registration through online link to secure a spot.

For those seeking more information, Alison Pfau, a bilingual regional dairy educator, is available to assist with questions via alison.pfau@wisc.edu or (608) 220-4770.

This workshop provides a valuable opportunity for dairy farmers to gain practical, research-based knowledge while connecting with industry professionals and peers.
