For the week ending November 23, 2025, Wisconsin farmers reported 5.9 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Light precipitation was recorded in parts of the central and southern regions, slowing some operations, but most fall field activities have now wrapped up for the season. Only a portion of corn remains standing as harvest nears completion.
Soil moisture levels varied across the state. Topsoil conditions were reported as 11 percent very short, 33 percent short, 56 percent adequate, and 0 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture showed similar trends, with 10 percent very short, 29 percent short, 60 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.
Corn progress continues, with 90 percent of the crop harvested. The average moisture content at harvest was reported at 18 percent, indicating steady drying conditions as the season advances.
Winter wheat development remains strong, with 92 percent emerged. Crop condition ratings for winter wheat held steady or improved slightly, with 70 percent rated good to excellent, representing a one-point increase from the previous week.
