Wisconsin FFA celebrates at 95th annual convention

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin FFA celebrates achievements and inspires its members at its annual convention! The 95th edition takes place June 10-13 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. This event brings together over 25,000 members from 259 chapters across the state.

Excitement is high for the convention, as FFA leaders highlight its significance. Cheryl Zimmerman, Executive Director, calls it the "highlight of the year" and applauds the hard work of students.

President Mary Schrieber echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the event's ability to inspire attendees. She mentions various activities planned, including workshops, service projects, award ceremonies, and a "Student Spotlight Stage."

Glenda Crook, Managing Director, focuses on the competitive aspect, where winners in various events will be announced. She encourages cheering on fellow members.

The convention promises a packed schedule. Attendees can participate in a community service day, witness the chartering of new chapters, and celebrate with over 300 members receiving the prestigious Wisconsin State FFA Degree.

Additionally, a "brand-new student spotlight stage" will showcase student talent, and the 2024-2025 officer team will be revealed. Recognizing sponsors, alumni, and supporters is also on the agenda.

The Wisconsin FFA's success hinges on its chapters and their focus on leadership, personal growth, and career preparation. These activities bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience, with support from the Wisconsin FFA Foundation and Alumni Association.

This annual gathering serves as a chance to celebrate achievements, foster connections, and inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders.
