Junior members of the Holstein Association USA who bred and own exceptional dairy cattle have recently been honored for both conformation and milk production. The awards aims to encourage members to continue their excellent Registered Holstein breeding programs.
From Wisconsin, Dylan and Cameron Ryan from Fond du Lac placed third nationally for the National Junior Star Performer Award for their cow, 'Ryan-Vu Dooman Maiti-ET.' That program recognizes well-rounded Holstein cows with exceptional milk and component production, as well as admirable classification scores.
And two cows owned by Brianne Vandoske & Austin Radue placed fifth and tenth, respectively, for the National Cream of the Crop Award. This area recognizes the top 75 Junior-owned cows that have produced the highest combined pounds of fat and protein during a 305-day lactation. The winning cows were Lyn-Vale Rainy Day-Red-ET and Jeffrey-Way Denver Thaddea.
The National Junior 200,000 Pound Lifetime Production Awards were was given to 11 different cows and their owners. An impressive 62 cows owned by junior members achieved requirements to win the 150,000 Pound Lifetime Production Award.
