The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, with submissions due by 11:59 p.m. on March 3, 2026.
The program supports projects designed to strengthen the competitiveness of Wisconsin’s specialty crop industries. Eligible proposals may focus on research, education, market development, or other initiatives that provide measurable benefits to specialty crop producers and related sectors.
DATCP encourages applications from nonprofit organizations, producer associations, government entities, universities, and other agricultural groups. Collaborative and multi-organization projects are also welcome.
Applications will be evaluated through a competitive review process to identify projects that best align with program goals and demonstrate strong potential impact. Projects selected by DATCP will be incorporated into Wisconsin’s official state plan, which is submitted to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for final approval and funding authorization.
Grant awards will range from $10,000 to $100,000 per project. Allowable expenses include personnel costs, consultant services, supplies, and other materials necessary to carry out approved activities. Pending USDA approval, contracts for selected projects are expected to begin in fall 2026.
Detailed grant guidelines, eligibility requirements, and application materials are available on the DATCP website. Applicants seeking additional information or assistance may contact DATCP Grants by email datcpdadgrants@wisconsin.gov for further support.
