Over 14,000 Sign-up for Farm Support Program So Far
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/18/2021

Gov. Tony Evers says applications have been coming in at a steady pace for the latest round of the Wisconsin Farm Support Program. During Wednesday's episode of the Dairy Signal, the governor told the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin that at least 14,000 applications have been submitted to the Department of Revenue's website as of this week.

Unlike the first program last year, farmers who's gross income ranged between $10,000 to $5 million during the 2020 tax year are eligible to apply.

"I know this money is not making any single person whole, but it's helping us get through the pandemic which is still an issue," Evers said. "Fortunately, we're heading in the right direction overall."

Agricultural producers of any kind may sign-up for the program. The DOR is taking online applications through November 29, but they must first obtain an eligibility code from the revenue department first.

Farmers who did not receive a letter containing the code and believe they qualify for the program should call 608-266-2772. There is also a hotline for Spanish- and Hmong-speaking producers at 608-266-2772.

The state will distribute $50 million to eligible producers through the WFSP by the end of the year.
