Amelia Neas Joins WCMA as Programs and Policy Manager

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) has announced the addition of Amelia Neas as its new Programs & Policy Manager.

In this role, Neas will support the organization’s advocacy efforts and communications on behalf of over 800 member companies across the United States and globally.

Bringing extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, Neas is well-positioned to help strengthen connections between WCMA, policymakers, and communities. Her work will focus on advancing the dairy processing industry’s interests and promoting lasting policy reforms that benefit members.

Neas will also contribute to WCMA’s communication efforts, ensuring members stay updated on industry news, educational programs, and advocacy initiatives. She will work closely with Rebekah Sweeney, WCMA’s Senior Director of Programs & Policy, who will continue to lead the organization’s government affairs efforts at both the state and national levels.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amelia to our team,” said John Umhoefer, Executive Director of WCMA. “Her experience and commitment to building strong, strategic partnerships will be instrumental as we expand our advocacy work.”

Before joining WCMA, Neas worked in the office of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers as Advance Director & Trips Director. There, she coordinated with state agencies and internal teams to manage hundreds of outreach events annually.

“I’m honored to join WCMA at such an exciting time of growth for the Association and the industry,” said Neas. “I look forward to working alongside this dedicated team to advance meaningful change and elevate the voices of those we serve.”
