Calf Care Connection Training Coming to Wisconsin Farms

Calf Care Connection Training Coming to Wisconsin Farms

By Blake Jackson

The Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) will host its Calf Care Connection training on October 22 and 23, 2025, in Arlington and Green Bay, Wisconsin. Designed for calf care managers and dairy professionals, the program provides a unique opportunity to strengthen knowledge and skills through expert-led sessions and hands-on learning.

The training will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day and will be presented in English with simultaneous Spanish translation.

The workshop opens with Dr. Catie Cramer, who will focus on how to give calves the best possible start. Cramer session will highlight transportation, one of the most significant stressors for young calves, and offer practical strategies to reduce stress and improve health outcomes after arrival.

Participants will then move into breakout sessions featuring interactive learning opportunities, including calf necropsies. These activities aim to help producers better understand how stress and management practices directly impact calf health and long-term success.

Experts Dr. Frank Garry, DVM, Dr. Catie Cramer, PhD, and Dr. Ryan Breuer, DVM, DACVIM-LAIM will provide practical insights into reducing stress-related challenges on the farm and improving animal care practices.

Registration is $130 for members, $355 for non-members, and $100 for each additional participant.

The October 22 session will be held at the Arlington Ag Research Station, and the October 23 workshop will take place at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay.
