A dairy producer from Rosendale was elected chairperson of the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, which is formerly know, as the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. During the check-off's annual reorganization meeting this week, Janet Clark was chosen to lead the 25 member panel by her colleagues. She replaces Jeff Strassburg of Wittenburg, who held the post for five years.
Clark and her husband, Travis, have joined her family's dairy operation, Vision Aire Farms, LLC. She manages the financials and calves for the 140-cow Registered Holstein farm. She was first elected to the DFW board in 2017.
Other members of the DFW Executive Committee include Gail Klinkner, Viroqua, vice-chair; Julie Maurer, Newton, secretary; and Mark Crave, Watertown, treasurer. Additional leadership roles are held by Stacy Eberle, Monroe, communications committee chair; David Bangart, Greenwood, channel management committee chair; and Kay Zwald, Hammond, policy/bylaw committee chair.
Meanwhile, the board also selected Doug Danielson from Cadott to chair the Center for Dairy Research liaison committee.
The check-off is comprised of 25 dairy producer-directors who set policies and procedures, supervise business affairs and approve annual budgets.
