The Wisconsin Beef Council Board of Directors has announced new leadership to oversee the state’s Beef Checkoff program. Curt Larson of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, has been elected president of the 21-member board and will serve a two-year term.
Larson, who is the president and CEO of Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association, succeeds Amy Radunz of Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Radunz, a beef cattle technical specialist and farmer, completed her term and will continue to serve on the Executive Committee as past president.
“I am excited to lead the Wisconsin Beef Council and look forward to collaborating with all of the directors from the other organizations and staff to continue advancing our mission,” Larson said.
The Wisconsin Beef Council Board consists of representatives appointed by statewide organizations to serve three-year terms. Members either contribute to or help collect the Beef Checkoff, supporting the council’s mission to build sustainable demand for beef.
“Continuing to build demand for beef will remain our priority,” Larson added. “We are committed to educating Wisconsin producers on how their Beef Checkoff dollars are invested to strengthen the industry.”
Larson will also serve as the Federation of State Beef Councils director representing Wisconsin. The board named Brad Solchenberger of Cazenovia as president-elect and Brady Klatt of Clinton as secretary-treasurer.
Committee chairs and at-large Executive Committee members include Todd Cummings (Consumer Information), Dan Reeson (Promotion), Shari Overby (Producer Communications/Industry Information), Abdullah Hussaini, and Tressa Lacy. Travis Clark of Rosendale was recognized for his years of service to the beef industry after completing two board terms.
