The Wisconsin Corn-Soy Expo is excited to announce its 2023 featured speakers for this year's show, set for Feb.2 and 3 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
Chip Flory will kick off Corn-Soy Expo on stage on Thursday, Feb. 2. After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Ag Journalism, Flory has been covering and analyzing ag markets and issues for 33 years. After a 17-year run as editor of Pro Farmer newsletter, he is now Editor Emeritus of Pro Farmer, the Farm Journal Economist and the host of two hours of the issue- and market-driven AgriTalk radio. His AgriTalk radio show will be live at the Expo.
"Chip's so well known to Wisconsin farmers," says Wisconsin Soybean Association President Steve Trzebiatowski. "Having his radio show live at the Expo really helps Corn and Soy leaders connect with producers about all the wonderful things at this year's show."
To close out the show on Friday, Feb 3, Rob Sharkey known in digital circles as The Shark Farmer, will explain why he is not the average Illinois grain farmer. He's a disruptor who is unwavering in his ability to directly address controversial topics. Rob tackles life, alongside his high school sweetheart, Emily, knowing smaller sharks in their school will be impacted by their choices.
"We're very excited to have Rob at our show this year," says Mark Hoffmann, Wisconsin Corn Growers Association president. "Rob has an interesting story and has had great success with his digital personality. We believe he will connect with the farmers in attendance."

Matt Bennett will serve as the Keynote Speaker on Feb 2. Bennett, who co-founded AgMarket.Net, is a Windsor, Ill., farmer and former grain elevator owner. Bennett brings the producer perspective to the table, enriched with his extensive grain marketing background. He specializes in formulating risk-management strategies for corn, soybean farmers and livestock producers.
Dr. Laura Gentry will serve at the Keynote Speaker on Feb. 3. She is the Director of Water Quality Science for Illinois Corn. Her work focuses on watershed research to support agriculture water quality initiatives and nutrient management, with a primary responsibility being the Precision Conservation Management program. Dr. Gentry's research focuses on the sustainability of high-yielding corn production systems, residue management and reduced tillage, and production and sustainability of annual bioenergy crops.
