The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension is offering a free virtual educational opportunity to support the mental well-being of the agricultural community.
The upcoming Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, tailored specifically for those involved in agriculture, will take place on Tuesday and Thursday, June 17 and 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. via Zoom.
This program is designed to help participants recognize and respond to signs of mental health issues, offering practical tools to support those in need. It emphasizes challenges faced by farmers and rural residents, aiming to build awareness and reduce stigma around behavioral health in agriculture.
To take part in the training, individuals must complete approximately two hours of self-paced online pre-work and attend both live sessions. Pre-registration is required to join, and the program is offered at no cost.
This virtual training is open statewide and is part of the Division of Extension’s ongoing efforts to address farm stress and promote health and well-being across Wisconsin’s agricultural sector.
